XPeng Inc. (“XPeng” or the “Company”, NYSE: XPEV, HKEX: 9868.HK) built 111 supercharging stations into operation this in November, bringing a total of 661 stations as of now, about 20 percent up from October.

Tesla has been operating in China for eight years, and has built more than 1,000 charging stations. Xpeng may catch up soon with its free and branded charging network.

China has the world’s largest charging network

As EV penerations continue skyrock in China, it is not as surprising to know that, China has been also at forefront with having the largest EV charging network. With over 2.2 million charging station, China’s EV infrastructure is established through government-led focus on implementation of new energy vehicles, as well as providing various pricing incentives for private EV purchases and automaker government subsidies.

A replenishment system

to significantly boost charging power and efficiency, Xpeng has developed a replenishment system, which consist of three areas: urban replenishment, supercharging station, high-speed periphery. Supercharging stations serve as core function in the replenishment system.

  • – Supercharging stations are equipped with 480kW high-voltage charging piles which charge vehicles more quickly.
  • – In collaboration with many domestic charging operators and cross-industry partners, to establish smart mobility ecosystem
  • – Provides a lifetime free charging service for XPeng first time buyers, with charging limit of 1,000 kWh per year. P5 users with 3,000 kWh free charging limit annually.

Intelligent super-charging service

  • – Adjust according to big data collected from the users.
  • – Intelligent planning on where to charge when doing long distance travel. No need to worry about running out of batteries.
  • – Recommends suitable charging stations based on algorithms.
  • – Spatial layout is user-friendly, convenient for stopping to park.

Xpeng’s commitment into building smart mobility ecosystem, lies in its belief that, only with highly efficient and full-coverage power infrastructure, consumers will be in high interest for EV conversions. As EVs are able to travel longer distance and replenishment system continues to improve, Xpeng is optimistic on its future.
